Colibri v1.6.4

A refreshing new addition to the audio player scene.

Colibri is a native MacOS audio player built from scratch on top of the award-winning BASS technology.

Colibri supports playback of all popular lossless and lossy audio formats, uses only a small amount of computing power, and offers an intuitive and intuitive user experience.

Save battery – Colibri uses a barely perceptible amount of computing power during the playback of your music. The application is built using the latest generation Swift 3 programming language, the BASS audio engine is included as machine code while the interface uses Apple’s built-in components. This was done in order to achieve a small footprint and be as native to MacOS as humanly possible.

Play your audio – Colibri is able to play the most widely used range of file formats in terms of lossless audio: FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, APE, TTA and WavPack – along with these popular lossy formats: Ogg Vorbis, MP1 / MP2 / MP3 and AAC / M4A. Additional format support may be considered if requested.

Handling CUE – Colibri reads, processes and, to a certain extent, disinfects reference sheets. Malformed and messy content is reprocessed during upload and if the audio files written on the sheet are missing then Colibri makes some educated guesses at the possible file / extension name. If the sheet does not contain the artist title, song title or album information, then Colibri attempts to extract song information from the audio file’s own header.

It supports uninterrupted playback – Colibri is extensively designed from the base to provide a true listening experience with no slots – with or without using a Cue Sheet.

Colibri saves the current playlist when quitting and re-opens songs when it starts again, keeping song data between playback sessions, regardless of whether CUE sheets or individual files have been pre-loaded. The Apple Sandbox protection is fully compatible.

Avoid most problems – Colibri does its best to avoid most problems before, during and after playback – however there are situations where error checking and divination rates will not be enough. Uploading unsupported files appears as an error message in the status bar and files that have disappeared since the upload are automatically deleted and skipped when they are reached in the playlist.

Understand your language – Colibri is able to represent the information of the song as it was intended to show: of all the metadata tested had no problem with the display of Cyrillic characters or kanji / katakana / hiragana mixed with ASCII.

Respect your privacy – Colibri does not call home, collects usage data or modifies files in any way. The only data you remember is the playlist and settings: loop mode status, whether the menu bar will be displayed and which parts of the information text will be displayed in the status bar.

Shows the art of the album – Colibri shows the embedded cover for FLAC files. When it does not produce results, it searches the folder where the current song resides for a cover image.

Resides in the menu bar – Colibri can place a discreetly small icon in the menu bar for easy access and control of the playlist: you can start / pause playback, skip to the next track or return to the previous one. It also displays the information and cover image of the current song.

Integrated with Finder – Colibri meets all strict Apple requirements, which means that it is displayed in Finder as an option in “Open With” when a compatible file is selected. Which in turn also makes it a suggested file association option.

Adjustments to your Screen – Colibri interface elements scale well in each screen resolution and pixel density.

Compatibility: OS X 10.11 or later, 64-bit processor
